One of Africa's largest ECommerce companies is looking for a design manager to oversee the design department.

As a Design Manager, a typical day might include the following:

➢ Working closely with Engineering, Product and Marketing teams to successfully go from early stage product concepts to launch
➢ Creating a customer-centric experience that supports our users' behaviours, needs and goals with both a strategic and creative approach blending data-driven research with common-sense human needs.
➢ Brainstorming, storyboarding, wireframing and prototyping to support a variety of experiences.
➢ In-depth analysis of how customers think, act and feel on their path to purchase and beyond.
➢ Understanding the brand personality and how it can support users’ behaviours, needs, and goals.
➢ Collaborating with Product Managers and Developers while leading the Design and User experience team to ensure customers' needs are met across all media.
➢ Ensure the application of UI processes within the product development process including iterations based on user feedback, usability testing, and utilisation analytics
➢ Intelligent application of data towards measurable results.
➢ Initiating and managing user experience research and testing processes
➢ Drive the development and communication of design guidelines, patterns, and libraries.

➢ You possess an extraordinary mind and love to use it.
➢ You have a solid grasp of responsive web and mobile design principles and technologies.
➢ You have the ability to grasp complex product requirements.
➢ You have demonstrated fluency in best practices for web-based and mobile information architecture and responsive design, as well as deep and broad knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
➢ You have experience working with agile development teams (Agile/Scrum/Kanban).
➢ You have strong organisational and multitasking skills.
➢ You have the ability to communicate design approaches to a non-design audience.
